A still further embodiment of the construction elevator according to the invention is characterized in that it further comprises: a rack that is attached to the mast, as well as a drive which is attached to the elevator car and is provided with a gear that engages the rack. By providing the elevator car with a drive, it does not have to be coupled to the counterweight to be moved upwards along the guide. This is favorable when raising the construction elevator, whereby the elevator car must be coupled to the counterweight in the upper position. The elevator car can move upwards at least in the unladen condition without a counterweight. Preferably, the construction elevator furthermore has a further drive which is attached to the carrier and is provided with a further gear wheel which is in engagement with the gear rack. As a result, the carrier can also independently move upwards along the guide and no crane or hoist is required for raising the running wheels. In order to be able to raise the mast easily, a work platform provided with a balustrade can be fitted on the elevator car during raising. To this end, a further working platform provided with a further balustrade can be arranged on the carrier. The construction lift 1 has a mast 3 that can be attached to the outside wall of a building. An elevator car 5 and a counterweight 7 can be moved along the outside of the mast. At the top of the mast there are circulation wheels 9 on either side of the mast, which guide cables 11 through which the elevator car is connected to the counterweight. The mast 3 is constructed from mast elements with a rectangular cross section. The mast elements are formed by four guide tubes at the corner points over which guide wheels attached to the elevator car and counterweight can run. The front two guide tubes form a first guide 13 along which the elevator car 5 can be moved and the two rear guide tubes form a second guide 15 along which the counterweight 7 can be moved. These guide tubes are mutually connected by connecting tubes. A gear rack 17 is attached to the front of the mast and drive motors 19 are attached to the elevator car which are provided with gear wheels 21 which engage with the gear rack 17. The elevator car can hereby move up and down independently along the mast 3. The deflection wheels 9 are attached to a carrier 23. This carrier is also displaceable along the guides 13 and 15 and is provided with a further drive motor 25 with a further gear 27 coupled thereto, which is also in engagement with the rack 17. The carrier 23 can hereby also lift itself independently along the mast 3 and move down. On each side of the mast, two bypass wheels 9 are attached to the carrier 23, so that the mast is loaded symmetrically. The carrier 23 is present around the mast and leaves the top of the mast free. As a result, when raising the mast, a further mast element can be placed on the mast unhindered. After this further mast element has been attached to the mast and the outer wall of the building, the carrier can be moved upwards. When raising the construction lift, the circulation wheels do not have to be removed first. Only the cables of the counterweight and / or the elevator car have to be loosened temporarily during the lifting of the carrier. Figure 5 shows the construction lift 1 equipped with a working platform 29 on the lift cage 5. The work platform 29 is provided with a balustrade 31 and is temporarily placed on the elevator car for maintenance work and during the raising of the mast.
